I decided it was time to teach K hide and seek this week - I mean proper, count to ten whilst the other person hides, then go and find them, hide and seek!
So to try and make it self explanatory I ran from the living room where K and I had been sitting together and hid in the bedroom beside the bed. K came looking for me and eventually found me! She thought it was hilarious and said "Me hide!" So I left the bedroom and she proceeded to "hide" precisely where I had been. (that was fair enough I mean she's only 2 and I didn't tell her she needed to go somewhere different). So I came and counted out loud and then told her I was coming to find her. So I go all theatrical and was saying "Where's K gone?!" so she said "I'm in the bedroom!". When I got to the bedroom she said "I'm hind the bed!" the popped her head up so I could see her and once again thought it was hilarious! Then she said "I'm count!" so we tried again. I hid and she came and found me, then said that it was her turn to hide. So I returned to the living room to count and could hear her footsteps coming towards me. When I got to "1" I uncovered my eyes and she shouted "BOO!" and was stood right next to me! lol! I think it's safe to say she's not yet ready for the"real" hide and seek :)
Edit 10-09-10 So it seems my girl learns fast! Yesterday I wa sin the kitchen and I called her to see what she was doing. She didn't answer...I called her a few more times and still got no response. So I went to each room in turn and glanced in - no sign of her! My immediate thought was had she somehow got out the front door - checked that but no way she could have got out so went to check each room again...I walked into my bedroom and was going to look behind the bed when I heard a cheeky little chuckle. When I looked up she had squeezed herself down the side of the bedside cabinet! She said "Mummy I hide!" I had to laugh - this girl is too much sometimes!
Edit 12-09-10 Ok so she's getting too good at this now and is starting to scare mummy. I no longer like this game! We went to get in the car and whilst I was putting the bags in she started to walk off towards the bin storage area we have outside (it holds all the rubbish bins for all the households in our block). I called her and she just started grinning and continued walking the burst into a run...so I ran over there as she was running the perimeter and decided to go the opposite direction to cut her off. When I got round the other side she wasn't there so I thought she'd turned back so I did the same, but still no sign of her - so I start to panic slightly. I called her name and heard a very quiet "uh huh?!". So I thought she must be inside the bin area. I went in but couldn't see her so called her name again and once again got a very quiet "uh huh?". That when I found her down behind on of the tall bins! She said "I'm hiding!" and came out grinning! Who the heck told me to teach my child (who is a little too smart for her own good!) this game?! (Sigh...)

K - isms Sept 2010
So K's "running" is becoming a focal point for my amusement these days. Yesterday we were over at a friends house across the road and it was raining hard so I lifted up K and told her we would have to run home so we didn't get wet. As I started to run K started pumping her arm frantically as if she were running! When I asked her what she was doing she said "running! why you laughing?!". I was laughing so much I had to stop running and we ended up getting wet anyway. Happy days :) So now it seems that K thinks so long as her arms are "running" so is the rest of her body!
The following conversation took place when I was checking Facebook on my laptop. K: "I need to see sumfing" Me: "What do you need to see" K: "I need to see your email!" lol!

K-isms...
So I've decided to blog about K-isms...these being things that only my child would do!
On Saturday she had a lollipop in the car as well as her juice cup. When we arrived home I asked her what she was doing (she seemed quiet and that is a rarity that needs investigation)...she finished swallowing and said "I'm drinking"...okay so I get out the car and go around to get her out and I can see she has her mouth over the air outlet valve on her cup and she's smiling...at closer investigation I find that she has her lollipop stick pushed through the valve and she is using it as a straw to drink her juice! I laughed so hard just at the strangeness that is a K-ism!
A day last week we were coming up the stairs and she told me she didn't want me to help her go up. So I let go of her hand and she started running on the spot frantically swinging her arms, then she stopped took one step up and then started frantically running on the spot again...I asked her what she was doing and she said "running up the stairs..."
I'll keep 'em coming as and when they happen!

The world of blogging
So I've decided to take the plunge. I'm sure it will take me a while to get my head round this but I'm jumping in feet first and will see how I go! As with most things once I get going there's really no stopping me!
